I always hated running

or make that jogging

pacing yourself

going long distances

endurance

 

I couldn’t understand

how to breathe

how to control

how to want to wait

 

instead, I loved sprinting

I loved exploding

racing

pushing my body

to limits

 

i loved the speed

the intensity

feeling like I could fly

 

Today a little four-legged flying frenchie

raced me as fast as I could go

and made me remember

what I sometimes I forget

to keep pushing myself

because I still hate running

but I can still sprint

and I can still fly

I just have to remember to do it
